In this project, we were asked to install luxury vinyl tile flooring in a kitchen diner to create a stylish and durable floor suitable for everyday family life. The client wanted a modern, high-end look that would complement the open-plan space while also providing a practical flooring solution capable of handling heavy daily use.

To achieve a flawless finish, we began by fully preparing the subfloor. The entire area was latex levelled and smoothed to remove any imperfections and create a perfectly even base. Proper preparation is essential when installing luxury vinyl tiles, as it ensures the finished floor remains stable, durable, and visually seamless over time.

Once the surface was fully prepared, we installed commercial-grade luxury vinyl tiles throughout the kitchen diner. To create a distinctive design feature, we incorporated 3mm inlay strips between each plank, producing a ship deck effect. This detailing adds a unique visual element to the flooring, creating the appearance of traditional decking while maintaining the durability and practicality of modern LVT.

The finished floor delivers a striking combination of style and performance. The ship deck effect adds character and visual interest, while the commercial-grade LVT provides a durable, low-maintenance surface that is ideal for busy kitchens and dining areas.
