We recently completed a comprehensive flooring upgrade across six residential flats in Lyndhurst, delivering a practical and visually consistent finish throughout each property. The project required a combination of carpet, vinyl, and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) to suit different room types and levels of daily use. Our team managed the entire process from start to finish, including the removal of existing floor coverings, full subfloor preparation, and the installation of new flooring across all six units.
During the initial consultation, the client explained that the existing flooring was worn and outdated and needed replacing with a clean, modern, and neutral finish suitable for incoming tenants. It was important that the materials selected were appropriate for each room while maintaining consistency across all properties. Carpet was chosen for the bedrooms to provide warmth and comfort, vinyl was specified for kitchens and bathrooms due to its moisture resistance and ease of cleaning, and LVT was selected for living rooms, lounges, and hallways to offer a durable, modern finish capable of handling heavy everyday use. The landlord also requested that the same specification be installed throughout all six flats to ensure a uniform standard and simplify future maintenance.
Once the existing carpets, vinyl, and laminate flooring had been uplifted and disposed of, we assessed the condition of each subfloor to ensure it was suitable for the new installations. Where required, damaged areas were repaired and uneven surfaces were smoothed using a latex levelling compound to create a stable, uniform base. Primers were applied as necessary to promote strong adhesion and long-term performance, particularly where different flooring types were being installed within the same property.

With preparation complete, we installed the new flooring throughout each flat. Bedrooms were fitted with a durable, comfortable carpet to create a welcoming and homely feel. In kitchens and bathrooms, moisture-resistant vinyl was laid to provide a practical, easy-to-maintain surface ideal for high-humidity environments. LVT was installed in the main living areas and hallways, offering excellent durability, a modern appearance, and simple day-to-day maintenance. All flooring was finished with appropriate trims and thresholds to ensure a clean, professional result and smooth transitions between rooms.
The completed project delivered a refreshed, modern look across all six flats, with practical, room-specific flooring designed for everyday residential use. Each property now benefits from a neat, well-finished installation that is durable, easy to maintain, and suitable for long-term tenancy. The work was completed efficiently, helping the flats become rental-ready with minimal downtime.
