We recently completed a luxury vinyl tile flooring upgrade using LVT from Invictus, replacing the property’s existing laminate flooring with a more durable and professionally installed floor. The client wanted to refresh the space while choosing a flooring solution that combined the natural appearance of a traditional floor with the practicality, durability, and easy maintenance offered by modern LVT.
The first stage of the project involved uplifting and removing the existing laminate flooring. Once this had been taken up, we were able to assess the floor beneath and begin preparing it correctly for the new installation. Unlike floating laminate flooring, fully bonded LVT relies heavily on the quality of the surface below, so thorough subfloor preparation is essential to achieving a smooth finish and ensuring the flooring performs as intended over the long term.
To create a strong and stable base, we supplied and installed SP101 flooring-grade plywood across the area. The plywood provides a consistent surface for the LVT installation and helps eliminate minor imperfections or movement in the existing floor beneath. Taking the time to create the correct base is particularly important with LVT, where imperfections in the subfloor can potentially become visible through the finished flooring.
With the preparation complete, we installed the new Invictus luxury vinyl tile flooring using a fibre-reinforced adhesive. Fully bonding the LVT in this way provides a strong and secure installation, helping prevent movement while providing the durability required for everyday use. The fibre-reinforced adhesive also provides additional strength and stability, complementing the carefully prepared plywood base beneath.
The Invictus LVT provides the property with a stylish new floor while retaining all the practical advantages that make luxury vinyl tile such a popular choice for modern homes. It is hard-wearing, straightforward to maintain, and comfortable underfoot, while the realistic finish provides the appearance of natural flooring materials without many of their maintenance requirements.
The completed installation has given the room a completely refreshed appearance, replacing the old laminate with a high-quality, professionally fitted floor designed for long-term use. From removing the original flooring and preparing the base with SP101 flooring-grade plywood through to the final installation using fibre-reinforced adhesive, each stage was completed with the longevity of the finished floor in mind.
