We recently completed a luxury vinyl tile flooring installation for a homeowner in New Milton, replacing the property’s existing laminate flooring with a high-quality LVT floor from Invictus. The client wanted to update the space with a more durable and professionally fitted floor while retaining the natural appearance and warmth that had originally attracted them to laminate.
The project began with the complete uplift and removal of the existing laminate flooring. Once the old floor had been taken up, we could properly assess the surface beneath and begin preparing it for the new LVT. Subfloor preparation is particularly important with luxury vinyl tile, as the quality of the finished installation depends heavily on having a smooth, stable and correctly prepared base.
To provide the right foundation for the new flooring, we supplied and installed 6mm SP101 flooring-grade plywood throughout the area. This created a strong and consistent surface ready for the LVT installation and helped ensure that any imperfections or movement within the original floor would not affect the finished result.
With the preparation complete, we supplied and installed the new Invictus LVT flooring. Rather than being installed as a floating floor like the previous laminate, the LVT was fully bonded to the prepared plywood using a fibre-reinforced adhesive. This provides a strong, secure installation and helps keep each section of flooring firmly in position during everyday use.
Care was taken throughout the installation to maintain the layout of the flooring and achieve a clean finish around the edges, doorways and other details within the room. With LVT, these finishing touches are particularly important. Accurate cutting and positioning allow the individual sections to work together as one continuous floor and help create the natural appearance that makes LVT such a popular alternative to laminate and other flooring options.
The completed floor has completely refreshed the space. The Invictus LVT provides the attractive appearance the client was looking for while creating a hard-wearing and easy-to-maintain surface suitable for everyday life. Beneath the finished floor, the SP101 flooring-grade plywood and fibre-reinforced adhesive provide the carefully prepared foundation needed for a long-lasting installation.
