Case Study: Invictus Maximus Commercial LVT at Artaze Hair Salon, New Milton

We recently returned to Artaze Hair Salon, a local business in New Milton, to complete a commercial flooring installation designed to give the salon a real wow factor while providing the durability needed for a busy working environment. For a hair salon, the floor is a major part of the overall look and feel of the space, but it also has to cope with constant foot traffic, styling stations and the demands of day-to-day salon life.

As with any LVT installation, the finished result depended heavily on getting the preparation right. The existing surface was non-pervious, meaning the preparation needed to provide the correct bond between the existing floor and the smoothing compound being applied above it.

We began by applying F. Ball P141, a specialist bonding primer designed for use over non-absorbent surfaces. This provided the foundation for the next stage of preparation and ensured the existing floor was properly prepared before applying the smoothing compound.

The entire floor was then screeded using F. Ball Stopgap 1200 Pro. Rather than simply addressing individual imperfections, the full area was treated to produce a smooth, consistent surface across the salon. Taking this approach gives the new LVT the uniform base it needs and is particularly important in a commercial setting where the finished flooring needs to look good while performing reliably under regular use.

Once the floor preparation was complete, we supplied and installed Invictus Maximus commercial-grade LVT. The flooring was selected to achieve two things: deliver the visual impact the salon wanted while also providing the outstanding performance required from a commercial floor. The design brings a premium, contemporary feel to the interior and provides a strong foundation for the overall look of the salon.

The transformation demonstrates just how much impact the right flooring can have in a customer-facing business. In a salon, the floor forms the backdrop to virtually the entire interior, running beneath styling stations, furniture and customer areas. Choosing a flooring design with plenty of character helped give Artaze a distinctive new look without compromising on the practical requirements of the space.

For a local business, downtime also matters. Careful planning of the preparation and installation meant each stage could be completed correctly and efficiently, from the P141 bonding primer and full 1200 Pro latex screed through to the final installation of the Invictus Maximus LVT.

The finished result gives Artaze Hair Salon a floor with the wow factor they were looking for, backed up by a commercial-grade flooring product designed for a demanding environment. It is a great example of why commercial flooring is about more than simply choosing something hard-wearing — with the right preparation, product and installation, it can become a major part of the design of the business itself.
